Forget About The Blue Mountains.

We just had a shy sports star over from Japan with a  few freinds, who was going to go to the Blue Mountains for the day and decided they wanted to take us up on our offer to get out on to Sydney Harbour instead in one of our Pontoon Hire Boats. We first pulled into the fish markets 10 minutes after boarding as they had just got off the jet in the morning and were very hungry.

I took everyone upstairs to one of the best-kept secrets in the Sydney Fish Market,  "Fisherman's Wharf Yum Cha." This is my favorite place to have yum cha as the seafood is the freshest. You can go to the fish markets for years and still not know this behemoth was even there, as the entrance is right among the hustle and bustle in the main mall inside SFM and easy to miss as there is so much going on.

FYI the restaurant is a full floor upstairs with TV's, fish tanks and Karaoke. "Seriously, I didn't know this was there for 3 years." The service is shocking. However it's all part of the fun and theater just don't sit back, be active when you order and don't be pushed into dishes you don't want and be ready to order with a few reminders as they will make to order if pushed and will forget you if they can. Each glass of water will have to be individually ordered, you get the picture. That said its still good fun just not for the fainthearted.

The seafood/ prawn dumpling are great and the Pearl River larger beer goes down well. The kids love the mango pudding with cream and won't share it, so be warned.

We didn't over do it, Just a few shared dishes among the hungry crew as I had a cunning plan while everyone went back to the boat at the wharf. What  I did was pick up 24  fresh South Aussie Coffin Bay oysters  and Sydney Rocks Oysters for our guests to compare Australia's best A Grade oysters. We got some local ocean King prawns and some freshly sliced sashimi with a lemon. Popped over and grabbed a cold  bottle of Oyster Bay Savon Blanc from the bottle shop. The Manager has some plastic wine glasses ready to go so no glasses needed for the stunning cruise around Sydney Harbour. #sydney #sydneyfishmarkets #ilovesydney
